VIOLIN/VIOLA/CELLO SOLOIST

At this time, a solo stringed musician is not an option that we offer.

While a standalone violinist, violist, or cellist can create a truly beautiful musical experience by playing a hauntingly simple melody on their own, we personally do not feel that encompasses what our mission is: to bring multiple musical genres and each client's personal music requests to life through both melody AND harmony.

Throughout the years, our music books have slowly made a significant shift from traditional hymns and classical selections to what we lovingly label as "popular radio favorites"... current top 20's, classic rock, love songs that never seem to age... you name it, and we are HERE FOR IT! Professionally, and as music enthusiasts of ALL genres, we desire to bring each song to life as it is meant to be heard--just with a classy string twist-- and because of this, we offer multiple ensemble options to create that multifaceted sound that we deem so important to what we do!

You see, the violin, viola, and cello are all melodic instruments (as opposed to chordal instruments such as a piano or guitar), and having a single string musician perform non-classical selections alone is equitable to a karaoke singer singing without any music being played. It can of course be lovely, but it's missing that special something that makes the song juuuuuust right. 

We have a number of colleagues who offer solo string musicianship while playing with a loop pedal or pre-recorded backing track equipment to fill out the sound in this very way; this is SUCH an amazing option for many special events... it just is not what WE do. We pride ourselves on our ability to make in-the-moment musical decisions that allow songs to time out "just right" when necessary, and that everything you hear is clearly performed live by our skilled musicians rather than a machine. In order to facilitate what we feel offers our personal best and most authentic-to-the-music sound, our closest option to a single string musician is to also include a piano accompanist as well.
